22 Faculty Affiliatied with SC-RISE

Faculty Participating in SC-RISE Reaches 22
Elaine Haberer, assistant professor of electrical engineering, has joined the group of UCR faculty who are participating in SC-RISE at the Center for Environmental Research and Technology (CE-CERT).
Thirteen faculty members, including Professor Haberer, from the Bourns College of Engineering and CE-CERT are already working in solar research.
Elaine Haberer studies nanostructured, bio-templated
materials for energy applications. Biological templates are able to recognize,
selectively bind, nucleate, and grow inorganic materials with novel architectures
under ambient, environmentally-benign conditions, thus providing the potential
for both enhanced device performance and substantially reduced manufacturing
costs.
An additional nine faculty and researchers have signed on as participating faculty for future solar research projects.
The SC-RISE faculty members include researchers in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical and environmental engineering and bioengineering.
