Mission
OUR MISSION
SC-RISE will be a vertically integrated center with a threefold mission:
- Conduct research in collaboration with government agencies and industry to advance the state of technology in photovoltaic electricity and other renewable energy concepts.
- Demonstrate and assess new technologies, and help end users identify the best applications of solar energy to their needs.
- Train electrical technicians, end users, college students, and the public about solar energy concepts, installations, maintenance, and operations.
Because of its nature and scope, SC-RISE will be the first of its kind – and it will establish alliances with complementary institutions to enhance credibility and avoid redundancy. This initiative will fill a critically needed role as a trusted resource for information on the state of solar technology, the technical and economic feasibility of solar installations, and the benefit.
